The Area

There's Something For Everyone

Welcome to the charming village of Romsey. In the heart of the Test Valley, Romsey can be traced all the way back to the 8th century. Today, Romsey is an exciting, prosperous market town on the banks of the River Test with an abundance of activities and sights for visitors to enjoy.

Fishing on The Test

Romsey sits on the banks of the sleepy River Test. The Test is a 39-mile chalk stream known across the globe for its excellent fishing opportunities between May and October. Trout is the star of the show, especially brown trout, but you can fish for rainbow trout, blue trout, and grayling on the Test, too.

For fishing experiences on the Test, we recommend:

Walking In The Area

There are wonderful places for you to stretch your legs in Romsey, whether you are craving a gentle stroll or a more challenging walk.

Because we are located in the delightful countryside of southern England, you are able to explore gorgeous scenic routes, taking you by the iconic River Test and its surrounding greenery, listed buildings, and historic points of interest.

Below are some of the walking routes our guests enjoy most:

The end result of the work is a triumph; every aspect of the site and the building looks stunning and works together to make optimum use of everything there.

The Hot Smoked “Chalk Stream” Trout was simply divine and the tastiest dish I have experienced in a very long time.

The fresh food served was a perfect match for the setting; completing the experience for us on the evening, and we will be back!

What amazing place to visit. This will now be my number one go to establishment.
